Job Role & Responsibilities

As a Junior Clinical Laboratory Scientist, you will be responsible for:

• Performing nucleic acid (DNA/RNA) extraction from biological samples such as blood, tissue, and swabs
• Conducting quality checks using spectrophotometry, fluorometry, and gel electrophoresis
• Preparing NGS libraries from multiple sample types
• Executing and monitoring sequencing runs following standard protocols
• Maintaining and calibrating laboratory equipment
• Ensuring proper storage, handling, and disposal of samples and chemicals
• Supporting the Lab Manager in method development and validation
• Participating in lab accreditation processes (NABL, EIAC)
• Utilizing bioinformatics tools for data analysis and reporting
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams while managing multiple projects simultaneously

Eligibility / Qualifications

Education & Experience:

• BSc, MSc, B.Tech, or M.Tech in Biotechnology or Genetics
• Minimum 1 year of experience in molecular biology or clinical laboratory settings

Required Skills:

• Hands-on experience with DNA/RNA extraction, NGS, and molecular biology techniques
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and analytical skills

Preferred Skills:

• DHA license (preferred)
• Experience in NGS library preparation
• Previous experience in pharmaceutical or biotechnology industries
• Familiarity with laboratory accreditation standards such as NABL and EIAC
